Below I’ve given you an interview I recently did.

What was your first taster of voice over work?

When I was at Drama school we worked with a director from the BBC’s Radio Drama department. She was very nice and told me that I should do voiceovers. My first voiceover job after leaving Drama school was recording a Shakespeare audio book for The Listening Books about 10 years ago! It was quite tricky as I was really nervous but it was a great experience.

What has been your favourite voice over job to date and why?

Well I’ll have to go with the voiceover job I’m best known for, which is the telephone voice of Virgin Media. Yes that’s me telling you your call is important and that you’re in a queue etc. It’s been a fantastic job as I’ve been recording for them every week for the last 6 and a half years!

If you had to pick one style which you feel represents you best what would it be?

Recently I’ve been doing a lot of Radio Imaging voiceover work. My voice works really well for Imaging as I’m able to bring a great deal of energy and excitement to my reads. My voice is often described as engaging, fresh and upbeat.

Have you been involved in anything interesting lately?

Yes, I’ve been doing a lot of voiceover work for Wedding TV recently which has been great. I’ve been voicing some documentaries for them including ones about Turkey and the Greek Island of Rhodos as well as Promo’s for them. Another fun job I recently did was a documentary about the boy band ‘One Direction’! Those boys are doing very well!

Anything else you would like to let us know?

I just want to say that I absolutely love my job! I’ve worked very hard to get to where I am in this business and I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved. I love bringing words to life. x
